Opening Weekend of “Canary’s Call” at the National Aviary

Explore the National Aviary’s new exhibit, which showcases four signature bird species (canary, rainbow lorikeet, Guam rail, rhinoceros hornbill), a number of other birds from around the world and the Malayan flying fox.  The new exhibit “showcases birds as the storytellers to illustrate human impact in five areas: overpopulation, pollution, habitat loss, invasive species, and overconsumption.”

Overnight Adventures: “Dinosaur Encounters” at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Learn about dinosaurs while spending the night at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.  Adults chaperones required and children should be at least 6 yo

Opening Weekend of the 26th Annual Holiday Train Display at the Western Pennsylvania Railroad Museum

Come enjoy the magic of the huge holiday train display at this Railroad Museum in Gibsonia.

Crafternoons at Assemble

Kids (aged 5-10) can learn how to make cyanotypes (or blueprints) with local photographer Jeffrey Krsul.  Snacks and materials provided.

Kids Corner at Marty’s Market in the Strip District

A new program offered by Marty’s Market in the Strip District.  Kids (aged 5-11) can participate in a variety of fun activities with staff while parents can relax in the coffee shop (and get 25% of your beverages!) or shop.

Parent’s Night Out at the Carnegie Science Center

Kids (aged 6-12) can enjoy a night of fun at the Carnegie Science Center including pizza, an Omnimax movie, laser show, science and science activities while parents can enjoy a night out!

RADical Days: Free Admission to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium
